With Excavator Hero 2022 coming to a close, Rototilt and winner Steve Lafontaine talks about engagement and experiences. “The support I received from my community, Liebherr Canada and specifically from my friends and family has been nothing short of amazing”, says Lafontaine.

Excavator Hero is the social competition from tiltrotator manufacturer Rototilt that challenges excavator operators from around the world to show off their skills using Rototilt products in a home video. After three rounds of voting with the public, Steve Lafontaine of Ontario, Canada was named Excavator Hero of 2022.

“I was surprised and excited when I found out my video had been chosen. I never thought I would make it all the way to the top position and being crowned Excavator Hero”, says Lafontaine. “The support I received from my community, Liebherr Canada and specifically from my friends and family has been nothing short of amazing.”

In his video, Lafontaine shows both daily tasks with his tiltrotator as well as some odd ones. At one point he shows of his precision skills by picking up a pair of gloves with his grapple module and handing them to his coworker. Apart from the title of Excavator Hero, Lafontaine will receive 10,000 euros to spend on a Rototilt product of his choosing. Lafontaine also wins a visit to the company's factory and headquarters in Vindeln on September 13-15. A trip where he will join 5 other Excavator Heroes.

“I'm looking forward to the trip to Sweden as I have wanted to visit the Rototilt manufacturer ever since I purchased my first tiltrotator”, says Lafontaine.
