Tools, excavator tools – All the tools an excavator can use. This means buckets, grapples, compactors, flails, mulchers, hydraulic hammers, etc.
Attachment or attachment system – There is both an attachment frame (upper part of the tiltrotator, towards the excavator arm) and a quick coupler (lower part of the tiltrotator, towards the tool). The attachments are available in various designs and makes and can be S-standard (S30, S40, S45, S50, S60 S70, S80), Bofors attachments (S1 or S2), pin grabbers (which pick up tools that are designed to be mounted directly on the excavator arm) as well as several other attachments.
Machine coupler – Mounted on the machine’s excavator arm and enables the operator to switch between different tools hydraulically or mechanically. A machine coupler uses a specific attachment system and can pick up tools that have this same particular attachment.
Attachment frame – Where the excavator arm is connected to the tiltrotator. Mounted on top of the tiltrotator. Can be connected directly to the machine or to a machine coupler that uses a specific attachment system.
Quick coupler – An attachment located under the tiltrotator, making it possible to use an excavator tool that has a corresponding attachment system.
SecureLock™ – A function and safety lock for securely connecting tools to the quick coupler. The function provides confirmation to the excavator operator that the tool is properly connected. SecureLock™ meets all applicable safety requirements and upcoming ISO standards, which are intended to prevent accidents that occur due to dropped tools. SecureLock™ interacts with the ICS control system and combines mechanical and electronic functions with clear audible signals and continuous monitoring.
ICS – Rototilt’s Innovative Control System is our most user-friendly proportional control system. In ICS, each function and each component is specially developed to maximize the benefits of your Rototilt®, at the same time as enabling you to choose which functions you want in your control system.
ISO standard – ISO is a joint organization for national standardization organizations in 157 countries. ISO’s main task is to develop standards for the business sector in order to facilitate the development and manufacture of products and services with the aim of making their operations easier.
LHV – Rototilt’s load-holding valve is a safety function to ensure that no load can be dropped in the event of a hose rupture or lost hydraulic pressure. This provides both safe working conditions around the excavator and prevents damage to loads.
ILS – Rototilt’s Innovative Lubrication System enables central lubrication of the tiltrotator. The ILS package consists of a robust distribution block and hoses that are connected to the tiltrotator’s various lubrication points. The block can be connected to the excavator’s central lubrication system for quick lubrication distribution in the correct amount. Alternatively you can lubricate all the tiltrotator’s lubrication points manually from two points.
Swivel – A co-rotating interface that allows hydraulic oil to be transported between the excavator and the tool, without reducing or eliminating any of the tiltrotator functions. The swivel is mounted directly on the quick coupler to minimize the risk of leakage, minimize pressure drops and increase the flow capacity.
HFS – High-flow swivel is a swivel that can handle higher pressures and flows, as much as 200 litres/min at 300 bar, enabling the use of more types of hydraulic tools.
TLE – Tilt-Lock-Extra, directional valves that enable switching between the tilt function and an additional hydraulic outlet on your tiltrotator. The quick coupler on the tiltrotator is also controlled by this system. The system is designed to operate with dual hydraulic functions from the machine. The tilt and rotation functions can be used at the same time if permitted by the machine.
TE – Tilt-Extra, directional valve that enables switching between the tilt function and the additional hydraulic outlet on your tiltrotator. The system is designed to operate with dual hydraulic functions from the machine. The tilt and rotation functions can be used at the same time if permitted by the machine. The quick coupler on the tiltrotator is controlled by existing, branched locking hydraulics from the machine.
RPS – With Rototilt Positioning Solution, you can view precise position specifications, on the excavation system’s display and in real time, showing how the tiltrotator is rotated and tilted. Works in combination with ICS and existing excavation system brands, such as Trimble, Scanlaser (Leica), Top Con, etc.
Double-acting cylinders – Hydraulic cylinders that allow the tiltrotator to tilt. Double-acting cylinders give a higher tilting torque but are larger in size (taller) compared to single-acting cylinders.
Telescopic cylinders/single-acting cylinders – Hydraulic cylinders that allow the tiltrotator to tilt. Single-acting cylinders take up less space but have a lower tilting torque compared to double-acting cylinders.
OEM – Original Equipment Manufacturer, machine manufacturers such as Volvo or Komatsu.
OED – Original Equipment Distributors, dealers that sell products from machine manufacturers.
